From Aditya to Aditya
Dear Aditya,
As you start your much deserved year end vacation this morning, I thought it is right time to reflect back on the events in your life in this year and put the things in perspective for your future journey.
- You are at your best in the morning. Take bath early and focus on important strategic things in your life which obviously doesn't restrict to office work but also includes discussions with mother, son, wife, sister, brother and relatives.
- Keep your brain and mind in best state. Both of them reside in your body. So take care of your body. Dal, Rice and Sabji is the best diet to keep body in stable state. Sleep well. The time when you hit the bed has now been delayed to 11 PM and beyond. Bring it back to at least 10:30 PM as far as possible.
- Walk for at least 30 minutes a day. As you may have noticed, a walk brings more oxygen supply to your brain.
- You lost your temper few times last year and will continue to do so in coming years. It is important to recognise this event as it happens and immediately try to control the damage. Once you calm down, reach out to people whom you hurt and have candid conversation with them
- You did good job in terms of going that extra mile with relatives / friends who are important in your life. After a certain point, life is more than merely money. So continue to invest in those individuals. On the other hand there are some individuals with whom things are never going to click, but still you need to have working relationships with them.
- You are hopeless as far as your financial investment decisions are concerned. Don't try to fix it now. Nothing is going to change significantly now.
- Another area for improvement is the way you organise the documents at home. At least prepare list of very important documents which you need and be aware where they are. Keep them at the same place irrespective of the fact, how much in hurry you are.
- There are other good songs in the world than those handful 70s Bollywood songs you listen to. Still if you can't resist the urge to listen to them, then put your headset on.
- You did good job in maintaining your dinner time before 8 PM as far as possible, continue doing that. It is ok to skip dinner if it is delayed beyond 10 PM
- You do have conditional approval to sing songs at home. Don't overuse it otherwise it will be revoked.
- Use this vacation time to go back to the basics. It has been a while since you stared at that night sky wondering whether it really takes so many years for the light of that impressive star to reach earth.
- Go to farm and sit next to trees just observing them. Observe the ants, insects and butterflies around them. Life around you is diverse. Don't get influenced by a limited view to which you are exposed to on daily basis.
- Watch Marathi / Hindi daily soaps intermittently. Despite being height of stupidity they will make you realise that there are millions of people who watch them with keen interest. It makes you aware of interests of people around you.
- Talk to elderly people around you. They have a lot wisdom which they can share with you. You need to be patient to listen to them and need to have ability to make them talking. World is not changing drastically. More the things change more they remain same. Once you listen to them you will realise that and you will get many really important tips.
- Be a good listener / observer as far as your son is concerned. You always doesn't have to be in "I wanna give you Gyan" mode with him. Remember that he is your window into new generation / world.
- Having said that World needs your blog posts / gyan sessions where you preach the readers / audience about the importance of tradition / old values. So please continue to do so.
- There were more than 30 days on Weekends in this year when you played more than 25 Chess games on a single day. Remember that you are not going to improve drastically now and your chances of winning even a local tournament are very remote. So just control the urge.
- Don't put lots of hope on Indian Cricket team for 2023 World Cup. Even don't consider writing blog posts analysing their dismal performance. In the unlikely event that they prove you wrong, come back to this post and add lines saying that you were wrong.
- Finally in coming fortnight, try staying away from gadgets for a period of minimum two hours at a stretch.
You survived this year without major damage. It takes significant effort on daily basis to achieve that. So proud of yourself. "Be Yourself!" Ultimately that is what matters most!
